LeBron James has lost roughly 25 pounds through his 67-day diet, low-carb, ketogenic, Paleo diet, according to NY Daily News. According to him, he did it because he wants to challenge himself, and it has nothing to do with basketball.

"I'm 29 years old, and I can still fly above the rim. I don't need to lose weight to do that," LeBron told reporters at a Cleveland Cavaliers media day event. The 6-foot-8 NBA star stated that he did it to test if he can do anything he sets for himself.

The controversial LeBron James weight loss has called the attention of people who are finding hard to lose weight. It has alarmed dietitians and nutritionist who claimed that doing the 67-day diet is not good and is extreme for normal people.

Earlier in September, LeBron James dishes out his new slimmer toned figure through the photo he shared at his Instagram account. LeBron James weight loss has caught the media's attention at once as he returned to Cleveland Cavaliers.

The four-time MVP said that every summer, he sets a goal and this year, it's his weight loss. LeBron James weight loss is composed of only vegetables, protein and low-starch fruit for 67 days straight.

There were also speculations that he pursued to lose weight because of his age, which was contraindicated by the NBA star. ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst has also stated that LeBron James weight loss was patterned from the low-carb Paleo diet that LeBron's former Miami Heat teammate Ray Allen did.

 The diet focuses mainly on low carb, high-fat diets that can provide, faster weight loss, sustained energy and avoid occurrences of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's, Obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, co-author of Keto Clarity stated.

The diet that LeBron James followed was earlier debated by dietitians telling that following a paleo diet is not actually good and is not for long term as it cuts down major nutrients that the body needs. However, LeBron James has also made it clear that his diet is not for long term.
