Marvel’s Captain Marvel 2014: Who Will Play Carol Danvers In Marvel Cinematic Universe’s First Female Superhero Movie?

As more movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe approach, the announcement that a female superhero would have her own movie for the very first time has excited fans all over the world, but who will play Marvel's Captain Marvel 2014?

Marvel movies have been getting more and more popular over the past few years, with Marvel Studios boasting some of the biggest box-office successes in the last few years - including this year's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the first installment of "The Guardians of the Galaxy," the latter of which was the most successful movie of the summer - but what will be happening to Marvel's Captain Marvel 2014?

Ever since the announcement that they'd choose a female to play Marvel's Captain Marvel 2014 - the name "Captain Marvel" has been used by characters from both genders in the comics, the last of which has been Carol Danvers, who was known before as "Ms. Marvel" - many have wondered who could be playing the role in the future.

According to Franchise Herald, several actresses have shown interest in the role of Marvel's Captain Marvel in 2014, including 23 year-old "The Fault In Our Stars" actress Shailene Woodley, who spoke out about her interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.

"I would love to be in a superhero movie if it was Marvel," she told MTV. "Their movies are so much fun to watch. They take you on a ride. I love how they're all interconnected."

However, due to the actress' young age, many wonder whether she'd be right for the role - considering the character of Danvers is a United States Air Force officer right before getting her powers, for which she'd need some maturity and shouldn't be played by someone that young.

Other actresses that have been named as potential candidates are "Game of Throne" beauty Natalie Dormer, Jessica Chastain, Jessica Biel, Alice Eve and Yvonne Strahovski.

Now, while the world's eyes are all on Marvel's Captain Marvel in 2014, another revelation has interested comic book fans: Al Pacino met up with Marvel Studios for a possible role, according to Wall St. Cheat Sheet - so maybe "Scarface" himself could be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
