Would anyone bid for a "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k"? Actually somebody did! The stylish "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k" was one of the featured items in Grey Flannel Auctions on Thursday morning.

Apparently, the sky blue "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k" was consigned by Jordan's former high school teammate in the University of North Carolina during his college days. The sky blue colored mid cut sneakers with laces was accented with white rubber soles that appears to be still in these days.

This was not the first time that a game-used Michael Jordan shoes had been out for bids. Darren Rovell of ESPN reports that before the latest Converse shoes was displayed at the auction house, a number of worn MJ shoes had been sold in the recent years.

Prior to the "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k," the same auction house had sold a pair of autographed game worn Michael Jordan shoes in 2013. It was the shoes MJ's shoes during the "Flu game" in 1997 NBA Finals that was sold for a staggering $104,765.

The same year, Grey Flannel auction house sold another Jordan shoes worth $31,070. The "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k," was the shoes that MJ wore during 1982 NCAA championship game when they beat Georgetown team.

The famous "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k," was  previously owned by MJ's high school classmate. Being so generous and friendly to his teammate, "the greatest basketball player of all time" gave it as a personal gift to the consignor.

Aside from the "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k," other highlights at the Grey Flannel auction house include a 1937 Joe DiMaggio game-used Yankees hat worth $151,652, a 1932 Yankees team-signed ball sold at $115,242, a Dr. J game-used Philadelphia 76ers road uniform worth $44,428 and Babe Ruth game-used Tour of Japan hat, sold for $303,277.

Michael Jordan was a die-hard Adidas fan. However, during his North Carolina days, he's sporting Converse because his coach was being paid of $10,000 so that his players could display the brand. That time, Adidas had not made an offer and when it did, timings were not right.

Finally Converse did the offer for $100,000 for MJ but due to some limitations the contract didn't push through. It was a perfect timing when Nike offered $500,000 a year for a five-year contract. And that was the start of history.

The man who won the bid for "game worn Michael Jordan shoes $33k," remained anonymous. Meanwhile, the executives of Grey Flannel revealed that they are still holding 1984 Converse shoes that MJ wore during the Olympic gold-medal game, which will be open for bidding in the coming years.
