KFC Edible Coffee Cup: Kentucky Fried Chicken Wants You To Drink Their Coffee … And Then Eat It! [PHOTO]

It seems that every move the fried chicken chain makes across the world ends up becoming newsworthy, as they either serve incredibly high calorie meals up until odd occurrences like KFC USB sticks and other tech paraphernalia; now, some people will get to taste a new KFC edible coffee cup.

After KFC Korea created a Double Down burger that featured three kinds of meat in its patty (namely fried chicken, beef and bacon) and the Japanese franchise celebrating their anniversary by giving out computer peripherals with a fried chicken theme, now the United Kingdom franchise is trying out another experiment, KFC edible coffee cups.

According to Metro UK, the new KFC edible coffee cup is called Scoff-ee cup, and it will be available during the next summer as the first time ever that a coffee cup in the European country can be consumed along with its contents.

As Mashable reports, this new project sees the fried chicken giant partnering up with Starbucks brand Seattle's Best Coffee for the creation of the KFC edible coffee cup, which will basically be a sort of cookie shaped as a cup, though with a twist: apparently they'll have infused aromas like wild flowers, freshly cut grass and coconut sun cream.

Because, of course, the idea of a cookie that smells like freshly cut grass is really enticing.

Time Magazine reports that the KFC edible coffee cups are made from wafers lined with white chocolate (heat-resistant, of course; you wouldn't want your coffee cup to melt in your fingers and then burn them with hot coffee) and then wrapped in sugar paper.

Of course, it's an interesting idea (particularly because it's also a step forward in self-sustainability and recycling) but only time will tell if the taste is even remotely good.

For now, the KFC edible coffee cups will only be available in the UK franchise, and it's difficult to tell whether they'll ever get to the US or any other country.
