‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 8 Episode 17 SPOILERS: Will Sheldon And Amy Start A Family … Colonizing Mars? [VIDEO]

Following the recent death of one of the show's most beloved supporting characters (namely Mrs. Wolowitz, played by Carol Ann Susi) and an experiment where Sheldon and Penny saw whether they could fall in love, "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17 will embark on something different altogether: Sheldon and Amy starting their own family.

Over this past season, there have been a lot of changes in the show about scientists and strongly focused on geek culture, from the new haircut sported by Penny (Kaley Cuoco) to the death of the mother of Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) - but "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17 might see the biggest change to date!

As Latin Post reports, the new "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17, entitled "The Colonization Application," features something very much out of the ordinary: it is revealed that Sheldon Cooper (played by multiple award-winning actor Jim Parsons) has very big plans for how he wants to spend his life: he's signed up to become one of the people to colonize Mars in the upcoming decades.

Of course, according to Carter Matt, "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17 revelation will likely cause tension between him and his girlfriend, Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik), something that happens as she feels she's more into the relationship than he is - although he'll usually show otherwise in his own way.

As International Business Times reveals, the issue between "Shamy" on "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17 will most likely come from the fact that they're about to take their relationship a step further by adopting their first pet together.

Other story arcs in the episode will see Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny not wanting to be the "boring" couple, Howard and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) working on their taxes, and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) being left alone in the apartment of his new girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer) and snooping around.

As you wait for "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 episode 17 tonight, here's a clip to keep you busy until then!
