Beech Nut Recall Baby Food: [+DETAILS] 1,920 Jars Of Baby Food Feared To Be Contaminated With Broken Glass

Beech Nut recall baby food after one of its products was found contaminated with a piece of glass.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced 1,920 pounds of 4-ounce glass jars Beech Nut recall baby food manufactured on date December 12, 2014.

The Beech Nut recall baby food contains "Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken," bearing expiration date of Dec. 2016.  The product numbers written on it are labeled from "12395750815" through "12395750821."

The recalled baby food has establishment number "P-68A" inside the USDA mark of inspection, the ABC7 reports.

 "We have initiated a voluntary recall for our Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken following a single report of a small glass piece found in a jar of the product," Beech Nut said in a statement that their recall was voluntary.

"Outside of this single report, we have no indication that any other jar of our Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken is affected, but as a company of parents and families we are acting with an abundance of caution."

Beech Nut recall baby food comes after a consumer complained of injury when a piece of glass was found in the said product. As soon as the baby food company received the report, they voluntarily pulled out the products that are all distributed nationwide.

However, Beech-Nut spokeswoman Kristen Whipple stated that majority of the Beech Nut recall baby food are still in the shelves and warehouses nationwide. She added they are trying to do the job of pulling everything a night before the recall was announced, the ABC News reports.

Beech Nut, a company based in Amsterdam, New York said in their website that their main goal is to make products that are prepared and packed in safe, clean and recyclable packaging. They also stated that they will correct and take action for anything that falls beyond their standards.

If anyone has purchased a Beech Nut recall baby food, the company stated that consumer can return it to the store where they purchased it for a full refund or replacement. They can also call at (866) 674-4446.

There is no other product reported affected with contamination aside from the Beech Nut recall baby food.
