Whether or not you're aware of it, today is National Superhero Day, yet another unofficial holiday created to bring smiles on people's faces - and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts wants the entire country to celebrate in the most sugarly delicious way possible, offering a deal of a dozen free doughnuts just for the day!
There are a number of food-related unofficial holidays out there such as World Nutella Day, Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day and even days dedicated to pizza and beer, but Krispy Kreme Doughnuts also want to make National Superhero Day all about the delicious dessert they're famous for, with a promo that could even earn you free doughnuts for life.
According to Market Watch, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' way of celebrating this fun holiday is by creating a deal with its customers: when buying a dozen's worth of Homer Simpson's most beloved treat today (particularly, the Original Glazed ones), you get another dozen free in locations in the US and Canada.
Tech Times reports that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' celebration doesn't end there, as they're also featuring the possibility of winning free doughnuts for life, following the cliché dream of cartoon policemen; all you have to do to participate in the contest is posting a picture with your own hero in one of their stores or at least holding a Krispy Kreme product.
This only applies if you know your hero personally, but for those who count people like Iron Man or generally famous persons as their role models, a photo of them would suffice for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' campaign.
Not all locations of the chain are participating in the campaign for Super Hero Day, but their website has posted a map where you can add your own address to see which stores near you are participating, which you can see over here.
