Manny Pacquiao Injury: After Fight Of The Century, Floyd Mayweather Contendent Could Lose Rematch Possibilities FOREVER

Last weekend, the entire world stood in front of television sets to watch what the media had dubbed "The Fight of the Century," referencing the 1971 boxing match between Joe Frazier and Mohammed Ali; now, days after his controversial fight with Floyd Mayweather, it appears that Manny Pacquiao's injury could prevent him from seeking a rematch.

The discovery of Manny Pacquiao's injury doesn't only mean his fall rematch to the American boxer could be scraped in its entirety, but also that he might face disciplinary action for perjury, as he failed to speak about his wound before the May 2 fight last Friday.

According to The Guardian, Manny Pacquiao's injury is so bad the Filipino boxing star will have to undergo surgery later this week for a torn rotator cuff, and his post-surgery treatment would seemingly keep him off the ring for a while, as he'd have to rest between 9 and 12 months altogether afterwards.

The world first found out about the Manny Pacquiao injury a couple of days after his fight with Mayweather, when the Filipino stated that his shoulder wound had prevented him from beating the American star boxer.

However, many feel that regardless of Manny Pacquiao's injury, the fight would have ended up the same way, as the final decision has received a world of controversy, as many think the 8-point gap between the two boxers in the results was unfair.

On the other hand, UK's The Mirror reports a new conspiracy theory surrounding the Las Vegas fight's results, as a clerical error could mean that in fact those who voted for Mayweather had marked him as being in the red corner for the fight when he was in the blue one, prompting many to believe it had actually been Pacquiao winning.

CBS News reports that, following Pacquiao's confession of having had an injury at the time of the fight, last Monday the Nevada Athletic Commission's chairman (Francisco Aguilar) will look up into why the Filipino boxing star had said he hadn't any shoulder injuries a few hours before the famous fight.

If Manny Pacquiao's injury proves to have been part of perjury, the star could face a fine or even suspension for it.
