World’s Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant Inaugurates In Hong Kong

World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant is schedule to be launched in June. However, Hello Kitty fanatics can already experience how it feels like while being served with Hello-Kitty inspired foods. The first ever branch can be found in Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon peninsula and has started its soft-launch phase.

As expected, hundreds of people are excited to see and dine in the World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant. All the 40 dishes offered in the menu are inspired by the well loved character in Japan, Hello Kitty.

World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant is also designed with massive Hello Kitty designs embellished on its chairs, tables, chopsticks, plates, bowls, chopstick holders, spoons, ceiling lanterns, teapots, wall decor, wine glasses, and wine bottles, according to Click To Houston.

"Hello Kitty is more popular in Hong Kong than in [her native] Japan," owner Man Kwong stated.

Hungry to taste delectable dishes in the World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant?

CNN reported that Hello Kitty dishes starts from HK$42 to HK$238 (US$5 to $30).

Some of the popular choices include Custard bun (HK$42 for a basket), shrimp dumplings (HK$48), traditional Cantonese sponge cake (HK$48), Sweet and sour pork (HK$98), Hello Kitty apple chicken rice (HK$108), and traditional Chinese almond dessert soup (HK$38).

While diners enjoy the foods and ambience at the World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant, the owner claims that it was not easy to perfect everything. Man added, they even experienced testing a dish seven times before they came up with the recipe.

"The hardest part was getting the proportion of Hello Kitty's features right," says Chan Kwok-Tung, a dim sum chef for over three decades. "Otherwise, it'll easily look like a knockoff."

Hello Kitty is a world renowned and well loved character popularized in Japan since 1974. Since then, Hello Kitty occupied vast number of items ranging from stationeries to even customized cars and bedrooms. It is reported by Stuff that Hello Kitty is now around £4.4billion net worth.

Every dish in the menu of the World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant will be approved first by Sanrio - the Japanese company with the Hello Kitty copyright.

The World's Hello Kitty Dim Sum Restaurant in Hong Kong was opened for soft-run to public on April 16 before it will be officially launched in June. The same restaurants with the character feline have been doing great already in Orange County, California, and Adelaide, Australia, the Daily Mail reports.
