Lance Armstrong News: After Doping Confession, Cyclist Sued For Over $100 Million … And Feds Claim Armstrong’s STILL Lying

Two years ago, the world stood in amazement as the greatest victor of the Tour De France, who won the title a record-breaking seven consecutive times, told Oprah Winfrey that the allegations that had been made against him for years about doping were true; now, every time there are Lance Armstrong news, things become worse for the retired cyclist.

One of the most iconic figures in the 1990s and early 2000s, who turned into a figure of hope and hard work after beating cancer, has been surrounded by controversy for the past few years, until his 2013 confession to having taken enhancement drugs during his time as a cyclist; and the latest Lance Armstrong news aren't much kinder to the athlete.

According to The Independent, the latest Lance Armstrong news os linked directly to his past mistakes, once again, as the disgraced cyclist is currently being sued for $100 million over various sponsors and former partners, who have alleged he committed fraud by hiding - and even denying for years - his doping.

According to Yahoo, this Lance Armstrong news sees the professional cyclist against Floyd Landis, his former teammate, who filed against him in 2010, with the United States federal government joining the case following his confession to Oprah.

The US government's involvement stems from the fact that the US Postal Service was Armstrong's biggest sponsor during his historic Tour de France stints in the 90s, and they're suing for $40 million over having been lied to and losing money.

As Lance Armstrong's news means he's currently having his day in court, USA Today reports that the cyclist's lawyers have stated that the US Postal Service's sponsorship paid for itself "many times over," as it had been found that from 2001 to 2004 the service had earned $140 million in exposure, after paying around $30 million for Armstrong's contract.

Other Lance Armstrong news about his case see the US federal government trying to get his longtime partner Anna Hansen to testify in court.
