Chris Pine Net Worth: 'Star Trek' Star in Talks to Play Wonder Woman Love Interest

It looks like 'Into The Woods' star Chris Pine wants to charm Wonder Woman in her upcoming standalone film.

According to Variety, the actor is currently in negotiations to play Gal Gadot's love interest in the highly anticipated 'Wonder Woman' movie. If Pine gets added to the cast, he will portray Steve Trevor, a US Army intelligence agent who becomes Wonder Woman's primary love interest.

In the comic book, Trevor is saved by Diana, an Amazon princess who eventually falls in love with him. The lovestruck princess follows Trevor back to the United States, where she eventually is known as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman's alter ego.

The film will be directed by Patty Jenkins, who has signed on to take over after Michelle MacLaren left the project. The screenplay will be written by Jason Fuchs, who has previously worked on the script for the Hugh Jackman film 'Pan.'

Gadot's Wonder Woman is also set to appear in the DC ensemble film 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.' She will join Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams (Lois Lane) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg). The film is currently being shot and will premiere on March 25, 2016.

Pine has appeared in several TV series before being cast as Nicholas Devereaux in 'The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.' He starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in the 2006 comedy 'Just My Luck' before nabbing the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2009 film 'Star Trek.'

The role skyrocketed Chris Pine's net worth to $15million.

The actor had lead roles in 'This Means War,' 'People Like Us,' 'Stretch' and 'Horrible Bosses 2.' He has also played a younger Jack Ryan in 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' opposite Keira Knightley. Pine recently proved he could sing when he starred as Cinderella's Prince in the big screen adaptation of the Broadway hit 'Into The Woods.'

'Wonder Woman' is scheduled for release in 2017.
