Lady Gaga Shows Hair Bleaching Process On Instagram [PHOTOS]

On May 22, Lady Gaga started posting a series of snaps highlighting the newest process she was undergoing. The star decided to bleach her hair a very white blonde from her natural brunette hue.

She first started with a before photo. Sporting a leopard printed cape, her hair is somewhat of a chocolate brown. The snap was captioned, "Still #nobleach."

Taylor Kinney's fiancée then pictured her colorist's arsenal: some cotton, clips, combs, pots, brushes and of course, bleaches. Fully aware of the painful process, Gaga captioned the snap, "Get the whisky."

She even shared some tips for her fans that might want to do the same. "We are using a virgin bleach application, NOT balayage. That means "to sweep" in French, I prefer not to use this kind because it will create a more highlighted look which I don't want. I want a clean solid classic blonde," she wrote.

She continued to post several updates on the long bleaching process. In another photo, she somewhat explains the science behind bleaching. Lady Gaga said, "We kept good control of the bleach by keeping it away from the scalp and virgin roots so the "cooking" temp doesn't rise or fall unevenly from heat leaving the head and body."

After several photos, Lady Gaga reveals the end result, sans the Instagram filters. She further shared the difficulty of the process to her followers.

"No filter. The method we used was to take me from a black Demi-Permanent to a very translucent sparkly white blond. Although it was painful at times on the scalp, I like to avoid using any barriers with bleach so it's as reflective and translucent as possible while still healthy," she wrote.

She also continued to share some tips to help with pain relief. "Advil and pound a few Pinot, but rinse immediately if the scalp is burning too much not worth it to get blisters. You can always reapply bleach... better to be patient! My hair still feels very soft," she added.

To top it all off, Lady Gaga posted a snap with her amazing (and patient) colorist. "My dear friend for 6 years, we fell in love years ago she is a blond mad scientist bleach warlock. Genius stuff, the incredible Patti Song," the caption read.
