Beer Shampoo: After Burger King’s Whopper Perfume, Carlsberg Creates Beer-Scented Beauty Line [PHOTOS+VIDEOS]

Beauty products are probably not the first thing that comes to mind whenever the Danish brewing company is mentioned, but now, following the new trend, the Copenhagen-based giant is releasing a beer shampoo, among other beauty products, to try their hands into a whole new market.

In a strange move, Carlsberg's beer shampoo is being released alongside other products directed at men, including conditioner and body lotion, and the products aren't only scented as their iconic product but they also contain it in a fairly important measure, as the company states beer's favorable effects on the skin and hair have been scientifically proven in the past.

According to The Telegraph, the beer shampoo is part of the Carlsberg Beer Beauty Line, which contains 0.5 liters of freeze-dried beer for each bottle of 250 ml, making it a very strong presence in their men's grooming line - in case you're interested in smelling like beer!

The Drinks Business reports that the beer shampoo is currently only available in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, but it seems like the company's previous research has shown that 67 percent of those who prefer Carlsberg beer in the United Kingdom have stated that they'd welcome beauty products that contained beer, so it might be only a matter of time until the Carlsberg Beer Beauty Line reaches the rest of Europe.

According to Adweek, the combination of the beer shampoo, conditioner and body lotion doesn't come cheap, as the full package retails at almost €64, which is to say $73, the price of being handsome.

Jim Daniell, the international media director for Carlsberg, told Adweek that these days it's far more common that European men are "more in touch" with different grooming routines, while experts claim that even if the beauty line isn't successful it works as an advertising point.

In any case, for those in Europe, the beer shampoo might be a fun present this summer, after the trend of Burger King whopper-scented perfume in Japan has passed.
