John Mayer and Katy Perry Reunite At Grateful Dead Concert

Over the weekend, Katy Perry and John Mayer were seen getting cozy at the Grateful Dead's farewell concert series in Chicago.

The on-again off-again couple was first spotted together playing it coy on Friday. "They were backstage being super sweet together - but not standing too close - in a big group of friends," an eyewitness told PEOPLE. "Someone handed her a tie-dyed rose. Katy was extremely polite, gracious and friendly."

The musicians then fueled reconciliation rumors when Perry was snapped wrapping her arms around Mayer on Saturday, and continued being affectionate with each other until Sunday.

"They were holding hands backstage Sunday," the eyewitness added. "For a short time, they were in the pit, but then the spotlight went on them, so John grabbed Katy's hand, pulled her out and they left."

Both famous singers were last seen together hanging out with rapper Missy Elliot after the “Fireworks” singer’s Super Bowl half-time show.

This is after the couple confirmed their split in February 2014, following a series of on and off-again rumors rumors. Sources close to the couple say each of their concert tours and busy schedules make it difficult for them to work out.

"She's stressed about the tour, they've been fighting," a source previously told US Weekly. "It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever. Of course this happens all the time, I can't keep track anymore. But for now they are done."

The couple who started dating in summer of 2012 recorded the song, “Who You Love” in December 2013.

The “Thinking Of You” singer dated Mayer after her split with former husband, Russel Brand in 2011. Now, she is among the long list of A-listers that fell madly in-love with the “Heartbreak Warfare” crooner, whose exes include Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Taylor Swift.
