Demi Lovato’s Boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama Stayed Through Difficult Times

Demi Lovato and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama's relationship has been very private in the past, But recently, Demi Lovato has been opening up about her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama. The American singer, songwriter and actress who made her debut as a child actress in Barney & Friends reveals the only time she and her sweetheart broke up was when she was deteriorating.

In late 2010, Demi Lovato got herself into rehab, after the singer and songwriter stretch of erratic behavior. Then later, Demi Lovato revealed she had been dealing with an eating disorder, cutting, bipolar disorder and addictions to alcohol and cocaine.

Demi Lovato stated, "The only times we ever broke up were when I was relapsing, whether it was drugs or in a bad place and rebelling against everybody, not just him," Demi Lovato also said, "People say that relapses happen before you use. Your mind starts setting up the relapse before you take that drink or that first hit. The times we'd broken up, I had already gone to that place of, 'Yeah, this is what's happening.' I didn't realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself."

But Lovato said that the American actor, singer, dancer, producer and television personality, best known for the role of Fez in the sitcom That '70s Show - Wilmer Valderrama, did not give up on their relationship.

Demi Lovato said, "We started dating when I turned 18... Right after that, I went to rehab. People told him, 'You should probably leave. She's on a spiral, and you're going to be sucked down with it.' But he was like, 'I'm not leaving. This is somebody I really care about.' We relate on a lot of levels."
