Add Cottage Cheese to Revive Your Diet

When you are on diet, most often you forego tasty meals to watch your calorie count.  How is it that nutritious meals are more often bland and tasteless? And when you have been on a diet for a while, the options of food to eat get fewer. Cottage cheese is the answer to the diet rut you are feeling.

Don't give up on your diet just yet. Use cottage cheese to supplement and complement your meals.  For breakfast, you can eat it with your toast. Or you can put a good serving on a bowl, top it with fruits, nuts and honey for a new variation to your oatmeal. For your mid-day snacks, use cottage cheese instead of a high-fat dip.  It goes well with cut cucumber and carrot sticks, according to Expose.

And who says you can't have dessert when you're on a diet? Use cottage cheese as substitute for your cheesecake.

Compared to other cheeses, cottage cheese is a bit more bland in flavor, but still with that tangy taste to tease the palates. The mild flavor is just enough to whet your appetite, but the calorie count is restricted.

There is a lot to be gained from eating cottage cheese.  It is rich in protein and a natural source of B12.  A good-size portion of cottage cheese in the morning can be your fuel for the day. It also meets 18% of our recommended calcium intake, and 48% of our phosphorus intake.

The use of the term 'cottage cheese' dates back into 1831. During then, the simple cheese was made in homes, or cottages, and left-over milk is used, after one has made butter. Most diet-aficionados are familiar with cottage cheese and health foodies. Body builders swear by this cheese because of its high casein protein, and low fat content.
