Chef Caught Buying Dog Meat

An Indian Chef, who owns an Indian catering company was caught purchasing dog meat from a pet food supplier.

Royly Da Silva, owner of Indian and Goan catering company Royal Food was caught buying from a filthy delivery man. Swindon Borough Council released an order to destroy half a ton of his stored food after he was caught purchasing from a dog food supplier, the Metro reports.

The court ordered to lock up Da Silva's garage after the 37 year old chef admitted that all of his Meat was bought from a pet food supplier.

The court heard, in his chest freezer there was dead flies and congealed blood, where all of his meat was stored.

Prosecutor Phil Wirth told Swindon magistrates: "There were sacks of meat which were being delivered as pet food with no identifying marks and so could easily be confused with those sacks delivered as food for human consumption."

"The van which the meat was delivered on was dirty and bags of meat were either on the floor or in Dolavs [plastic boxes] which stored the pet food meat and offal."

"The freezer in which the food was stored was filthy, littered with old food debris and congealed blood, there were dead flies lying in the bottom. There were Goan sausages hanging in the lockup in a plastic bag and Royly Da Silva was not clear about when and where these were prepared."

The court also found out that in the chef's freezer was full of food, which is intended for an upcoming party in London. The event is book good for 15, 000 guest.

During the reading of his case, Da Silva just kept his silence in court. Did not say anything to defend himself.

According to the Metro, Da Silva stated on his website that he has 14 years' experience in the catering business.
