Is Nintendo Considering Film Business Again?

Nintendo is showing some signs that they are considering the film business again, as a part of their expansion as an electronics company. The idea of pursuing the film industry started during an earnings report to the investors the Japanese multinational company.

Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's creative mastermind has said that the company is "potentially" acknowledging future plans in the movie business.

As reported by Fortune, Mr. Miyamoto stated that for the past years, a number of people have invited the company to be partners in making movies.

"We've had, over the years, a number of people who have come to us and said, 'Why don't we make a movie together-or we make a movie and you make a game and we'll release them at the same time?'" Miyamoto explained.

Mr. Miyamoto also said that games and movies are related so it will not be difficult for their company to transition. The people's innate anticipation in video game inspired movies is also a great advantage. He also added that the company is contemplating on how they can produce a movie that fits in with the Nintendo's role as an entertainment company.

Nintendo is not considered as a first timer in the movie industry. In 1989, the company produced a TV series entitled the Legend of Zelda. The TV series didn't click to the audience and has now became an internet joke.

In 1993, the tech company also had the chance to make the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie a blockbuster hit. However, the film turned out to be an epic failure, which in effect, damaged the company's connection to Hollywood until this day.

Others said that it would be better for Nintendo to create a series of animated shows starred by the company's own characters. Some rumors have also suggested that a new legend of Zelda TV series is on the way at Netflix.

Nevertheless, Nintendo has no clear information about the said rumors. There are also no official words from the company on which console characters will a certain movie be inspired.
