Leaked 'Lumia' Photos Reveal Microsoft Finally Ready for Premium Mobile Devices

Evan Blass released what appear to be official press photos of Microsoft Lumia smartphones. And they seem to point to a direction that has so far eluded the tech giant: a firm hold on mobile platforms.

The flagship phones, which are due for release this coming October, are codenamed Cityman and Talkman, as reported by Learn Bonds.

The Cityman is the larger one of the pair will be called Lumia 950XL, while Talkman will be called Lumia 950. They have a very basic look to them and sport a silver square Microsoft logo. However, this does not in any way reveal the power behind the phones.

Cityman will have Snapdragon 810, 64-bit Octa core and Talkman will have Snapdragon 808, 64-bit Hexa core. Both phones support USB Type-C and Qi wireless charging.

But perhaps the biggest sign that Microsoft is ready to carve out a piece of the mobile OS pie is its planned support of Continuum Mode in Windows 10 Mobile through a dock.

Continuum for phones allows you to get the full PC experience by plugging in a mouse, keyboard, and screen to your phone through the dock. Apps like email Outlook and Word work just like the PC version.

Smaller yet important details like keyboard shortcuts can also be expected. Basically, you can transform any suitable place into a complete work environment with Continuum.
