Since Malik said goodbye to One Direction, it's been one odd Zayn Malik update after another, from different Twitter wars (including some with the rest of the band) to, most notably, breaking off his engagement with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, reportedly via text, prompting speculation that there's something psychologically very wrong with the young star now.
In the latest Zayn Malik update, rumor has it he may be performing solo this weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) hosted by Miley Cyrus, but in the meantime, The Daily Mail reports that Malik has been seen hanging out with his mother Tricia in the midst of a very controversial few weeks.
Malik reportedly took Tricia to trendy Beverly Hills restaurant Mastro's Steakhouse last Friday, amid a world of backlash in the latest Zayn Malik reports; according to Capital FM, these days Jake Roche, the front man of band Rixton, is furious at Malik over his treatment of Edwards during their split, and he's even thinking of setting her up with one of his bandmates.
Roche is dating Jesy Nelson, one of Edwards' Little Mix bandmates (and they're all reportedly quite close), so it's unsurprising to see he's actually keeping track of how the breakup has affected Perrie - and not at all happy.
In another Zayn Malik update, The Mirror reports that Simon Cowell, the "X-Factor" judge that saw One Direction first became famous by producing their music, has also dissed the way Malik has been behaving lately, saying he needs some "sense of perspective" and he'll regret his actions later on.
