Tomorrow marks the long awaited release date of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It's likely to be the last game in the acclaimed stealth action series helmed by series creator Hideo Kojima. It has already been hailed by critics as one of the best ever made with an average rating of 95 out of 100 on review aggregator Metacritic, one of the highest ever garnered by a video game.
The Phantom Pain looks to have its share of celebrity fans as well. Last weekend, Kojima was photographed together with Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams celebrating the game's upcoming release.

In a post on Kojima's official twitter account, we see him handing Abrams a Playstation 4 copy of the game. The Japanese gaming maestro also posed for a shot with BB-8, the new soccer-ball shaped droid that will appear in the upcoming film. "JJ, who has been supporting the project for a long time, has also been told that MGS V is complete." Reads Kojima's tweet when translated to English.
Kojima's post Phantom Pain future in the games industry remains unclear. The 52 year old developer separated from long time employer Konami earlier this year in a messy divorce. The company reportedly shuttered Kojima Production's game studio and also cancelled 'Silent Hills', the psychological horror game he was working on together with film director Guillermo Del Toro and The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus.

Earlier today, Kojima tweeted another message, saying he had 'no regrets' about the finished product. To see his final work on the series, grab a copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain when it hits store shelves tomorrow.
