Kanye West made the headlines as he's VMA speech was said to be angled on his 2020 presidential run. As per CNN, numerous news websites did confirm West's 2020 candidacy which was his speech's conclusion. It is when the rapper made his closing statement by saying:

I don't know what I finna lose after this. It don't matter, though; It's not about me. It's about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth," West said. "And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

West pointed out that the millennials are the "realization of generational progress". And with this generation, a light was shed in ending long term issues such as the corporate influence and racism. West made the artists understand that they should just worry about what they feel, to keep themselves from being distracted from the difficult task of creating something with artistic worth. He then pointed out that if division is the enemy and unity is something that artists hope for, the art should bridge the gap between the two.
