Fifty Shades of Grey casting rumors continue to surface all over the internet. Who will play the lead role in the film adaptation of the best-selling book? Two actresses that are rumored to be playing Anastasia Steele are Lily Collins and Emma Watson.
The character of Anastasia Steele is innocent, virginal and inexperienced with dating. She is a bright college student that enjoys literature. In the book, Steele is described as a thin brunette. The character becomes infatuated with Christian Grey, a successful entrepreneur. Grey is a billionaire; he is only 27 years of age. Anastasia ends up falling for Grey even though she is intimidated by him and believes he is out of her league.
Recently, Lily Collins came up as a contender for the role of Anastasia Steele. Some sources believe Collins appears "too innocent", for the erotic story plot however Steele's character should exude a sense of youth and innocence. Collins youthful look makes her a great candidate for the role; she is 23 years of age. This makes her very close to the actual age of Steele. Anastasia Steele was 22 years of age. Some fans really want Collins to play the lead role; one fan posted a video collage of the young actress potentially playing Steele.
Emma Watson also seems to be a fan favorite for the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey. Sources believe that while Watson can play innocent, at the same time she knows how to showcase her sexuality. "We know Emma has the sex appeal after her strip tease in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," OPPOSING VIEWS said. The sexy scene proves that Watson is not shy in front of the camera and would probably be comfortable in the love scenes; that will be incorporated into the film.
For a while sources were speculating that Alexis Bledel was going to play Steele however ENSTARS recently reported that the actress signed onto star in a new Fox TV series titled Friends and Family. This could limit her availability causing her not to play the role. Bledel is considered a fan favorite for the role of Anastasia Steele.
