Tamerlan Tsarnaev Wife: Widow Of Boston Marathon Suspect Wanted For Questioning

The FBI is seeking out the wife and widow of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev according to The New York Daily News.

Katherine Russell, 24, learned of her husband's true motives as many others did, watching the manhunt live on T.V.

A lawyer for the widow expressed that she did not know of Tsarnaev's intentions, but federal investigators still paid a visit to her parents home on Sunday in North Kingstown, R.I., where she is currently staying.

Her attorney, Amato DeLuca, said he spoke with investigators and are "deciding what we want to do and how we want to approach this."

Tsarnaev, 26, died in a shootout with cops early Friday morning, while his younger brother, Dzhokhar, 19, was captured later that night.

As Dzhokhar regained consciousness on Sunday night, authorities are still piecing together a motive and if their actions have any connection to foreign or domestic terror cells. They hope the now widowed wife could perhaps provide insight into her husband's life.

The FBI, who interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011 based on suspicions of the Russian government, believe he made a trip to Russia's North Caucasus region in 2012, an area known to be home to Islamists.

The FBI wants to know if Russell knew anything else about the mysterious trip. She was last spotted Saturday, leaving her Cambridge home with her 3 year-old daughter, Zahara.

According to the Daily Mail, Russell is the eldest of three daughters and was raised Christian. She later converted to Islam when she married Tsarnaev.

"She was just this all-American girl who was brainwashed by her super-religious husband," said one unidentified friend. "None of us would have dreamed that she would marry so young or drop out of college and have a baby or convert or be part of any of what's happened.

"She's just not the same person at all."
