It looks like Blue Apron is branching out into the world of wine. America's leading recipe and fresh ingredients delivery service has just announced a new service that will deliver bottles of wine right to your doorstep.

Dubbed 'Blue Apron Wine' the new venture will focus on wine pairings that complement Blue Apron's slate of meals.

In a press release, the company outlined their goals for the new service:

"Like the grocery category, wine is a large industry with low online market penetration.  Of the $38 billion in wine sales in 2014, less than $2 billion were direct-to-consumer," said Matt Salzberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Blue Apron.  "Wine pairings have been a top request from our home chefs since we launched, and we're excited about the opportunity to complement our Blue Apron meals with incredible wines."

The deliveries will come in with six custom 500ml bottles that are perfectly tailored for a two-person meal. The release says that each bottle will also come with a special tasting card that indicates the grape's provenance as well as tasting and dining tips.

According to the article, deliveries are priced as so:

Blue Apron Wine deliveries are $65.99 + tax, and shipping is included. Customers can sign up for Blue Apron Wine via their online account, and will receive deliveries monthly, but can skip a month or cancel at any time. At launch, Blue Apron Wine will be available to existing Blue Apron customers, with plans to expand the product offering over time.

The move is the latest step in the company's fast growing expansion. Earlier this year, the company secured $135 million in funding. The Wall Street Journal pegs to company's current value at just around $2 billion.
