A bride, after receiving a horrific version of the cake she had ordered for her wedding day, decided to sell the monstrosity on eBay.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Celia, a woman in the United Kingdom attempted to sell her "ugly" wedding cake on the online sale site.
The newlywed posted an unflattering description of the unsatisfactory cake.
"A few defects due to maker being unskilled. Uncut, along with large amount of awful cupcakes for free. No topper or decoration. Unusual design. Very heavy," she wrote.
Celia listed the cake for $1.54. Under the condition, she listed "used" and said there were absolutely no returns. According to the Los Angeles Times, when the sale ended, Celia had a total of about 11 bids, and offered $16 for the cake.
In the post, Celia instructed buyers to look at the cake as an inedible collectible and that she can't be held responsible if someone eats any part of it.
According to the Huffington Post, after a baker wrote in the comments about the safety concerns of selling a cake via the internet, Celia explained that the eBay sale was just a big joke.
"Thanks for message and concern about the cake," Celia said. "It has been advertised purely as a joke and I'm not expecting anyone to buy it."
According to Celia, she was instantly frustrated once she arrived to her reception and saw the cake. Once she placed the cake on sale, Celia said she didn't expect someone to actually buy the cake.
"We have things in motion to prevent this person ever making a cake again and upsetting, or trying to rip off other unsuspecting customers," Celia said. "I have amended the advert and added a disclaimer, however I do not expect it to sell! Thanks again for your kind comments, Celia x."
