‘Great British Bake Off’ 2015: BBC Baking Competition Becomes Most-Watched Show In UK – How Did Nadiya Hussain Win? [VIDEO]

Five years ago, BBC Two launched what would become a fast tradition in the United Kingdom, a series running for a few weeks that attempts to find the best baker in the country once a year - and this week was the "Great British Bake Off" 2015 final!

Riding on the wave of popular cooking competition shows that have been going on in the past few years (like Gordon Ramsay's "Hell's Kitchen" and "Masterchef"), the "Great British Bake Off" 2015 has turned into the highest-rated television show in the UK, besides having been exported outside the country's borders for an exciting few weeks from the end of summer until early fall - and this is what happened in this year's finale!

According to BBC, the "Great British Bake Off" 2015 winner is 30 year-old Leeds chef Nadiya Hussain, who killed crowds of the popular show by baking "Nadiya's Iced Buns" as well as the show-stoppeer "Big Fat British Wedding Cake,"she adorned with jewelry from her own collection (worn on her wedding day), taking everyone's breath away.

The runner-ups on the "Great British Bake Off" 2015 were Ian Cumming (who came second after two last attempts, baking "Elderflower and Lemon Buns," then "Spiced Buns" and finally a "Colossal Carrot Cake") and Tamal Ray (third with his "Cinnamon and Apple Iced Buns" followed by "Toffee and Marmalade Ice Buns" and "Caramel Sticky Toffee Cake").

As The Telegraph reports, everyone had their money on Nadiya to win the "Great British Bake Off" 2015, literally: it wasn't only that she the favorite to win by bookies all over the country, even Prime Minister David Cameron publicly said she was his favorite candidate!

In all, if the mother of three plays her cards right, she could be making about £1 million ($1.5 million) in the next few months.

According to The Guardian, the final of the "Great British Bake Off" 2015 has become the highest-rated show in the country this year with 13.4 average viewers with a peak of 14.5 million, beating out the "Britain's Got Talent" finale, and close to the nearly 15 million people who watched the Germany-Argentina World Cup final on July 2014 - watch Nadiya win in the clip below!
