Humans Or Robots: Who Will Take Ownership of the World's Jobs?

Are the robots taking over people's jobs? How true is it that robots will take over the world?

The Bank of England gave out warnings that in the following ten to twenty years, eighty million American jobs and fifteen million jobs from Britons will be taken over by robots. These are not just simply robots, they are smart robots. If this will happen, a majority of the nation's workforce will be affected.

According to CNN Money, a speech was delivered by Andy Haldane at the Trades Union Congress in London. Haldane is a Bank economist. He foresaw what these robots can do and he shared that their taking over of people's jobs will have a big impact to the middle class, lessening the demand for human skills like production, clerical, and administrative jobs.

However, according to Bloomberg, Economist Noah Smith doesn't agree with the total domination of robots. He said that prior innovations that involved robots did not trigger humans to become useless. But instead, they showed that presence of robots will help and complement us.

With the presences of robots many people can easily be replaced from their jobs. It is a fact, whether people will like or not. However, these jobs that will be replaced are the kinds that are repetitive, dangerous, and jobs that robots can do better than people.

Another good thing pointed out about robots is that they are a good match to humans. For an instance, robots can do the dinner reservations and supervise online purchases while humans can finalize everything the robot initiated doing. This situation shows that robots and humans complement each other.

The robot domination hasn't happened yet. People don't need to worry about it for now and if that time will come, there really is no need to panic. Robots are here to help humans, not to take over the world. Humans should take ownership of the world.
