Telltale's Game of Thrones’ Season Finale: An Unsatisfying End?

Telltale's tie-in season finale game of the popular HBO series has also come to its end. With the release of the game developer's final chapter of the Game of Thrones game series, will it par to the expectations of the GoT fans as a fresh take and worthy companion to the series?

The adventure game developer prides on creating stories that are full of magic, mystery, and mind- boggling quests. The game also features characters which do not appear in George R.R. Martin's books.

Following the release of the the much anticipated game version of the well- loved Tales from Westeros are reviews that quite did not match up to the acclaim of the TV series.

In a review by Game Central for metro.co.uk, they pointed out the biggest faults of the game developer while trying to develop a game based on the popular series. "The game's story is set between the end of the third season of the TV show and the start of the fifth, so if you're a fan, which is presumably very likely if you're buying this, you know the exact fate of all the named characters".

"To get around this problem Telltale has focused its story on an obscure family named Forrester, who are only mentioned in passing in the books... But although they are technically original characters they're all very close analogues of existing House Stark characters, with similar personalities, back stories, and character arcs", Game Central writes.

In spite of the loopholes of the story and concept pointed out from the game, among the pros mentioned in most reviews is the good the writing and many interesting characters and locations that are authentic to the books.

Fans who were not that pleased with the game hoped for a better Season Two if it is coming out, as its release is not being announced yet.

Telltale has also announced that the GoT game series will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The last episode is also now out digitally across all formats, including mobile, Mac and PC.
