A rapper affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan is being treated at a California hospital after cutting off his penis and leaping off of his balcony.
TMZ reported that rapper Andre "Christ Bearer" Johnson was reportedly spending time with friends when he unexpectedly cut off his penis before jumping off the second story of his North Hollywood building on Wednesday morning.
Police officials believe that Johnson attempted to commit suicide. Los Angeles Police Sgt. William Mann said that Johnson was found on the sidewalk seriously injured, but that he survived the fall. Police arrived around 1 a.m., and rushed Johnson, along with his recovered penis to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It's unclear if doctors are attempting to reattach Johnson's penis.
Johnson's friends told TMZ that they were "not on any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing;" and that Johnson's actions came "without warning." TMZ reported that by the time Johnson's friends made it to the ground floor, the rapper was on his feet, "running around screaming."
According to the Wu-Tang Clan website, Johnson has been a member of Northstar, a Long Beach, California, hip hop group that was part of the Wu-Tang Clan.
