Ketogenic Diet Is Behind This Woman's 92 Pounds Weight Loss

A woman from San Francisco who once weighed 289 pounds lost a staggering 92 pounds by just following the Ketogenic diet.

Suzanne Ryan previously weighed 289 pounds and almost went for the gastric bypass surgery after getting tired of her image and she realized she's not healthy anymore. But instead of going through a surgery to lose weight, the 5- foot- 11 woman decided to try the low-carb, high-fat, moderate-protein diet in a bid to lose a lot of weight, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported.

Ryan chronicled her amazing weight loss journey on her blog, KetoKarma. She said her weight was 289 pounds before and her "energy level and self- esteem were both at an all- time low" and she "felt tired and sick a lot of the time" before she started the keto diet.

Eventually, after religiously following the diet, she's currently "down to 91.2 pounds in 44 weeks, and I couldn't be happier with my new lifestyle!" she wrote. She said unlike her previous weight loss regimes that included tasteless meals and starving, the keto allowed her to enjoy delicious meals that are made with bacon, cheese and butter. Suzanne said her diet doesn't involve calorie counting but she just limited her daily carb consumption to 20 grams net.

For the first 24 weeks of her weight loss journey, Ryan didn't do any exercise. But after 6 months, she decided to include workout routines on her diet regimen. Her workouts include 45 minutes exercise and weight lifting, which she does two to three times a week.

After her diet regimen has turned her life around, she was really thrilled with her dramatic weight loss transformation that Suzanne urged her husband, Mick to try the ketogenic diet as well. The 34 year old Mick eventually lost a whopping 70 pounds as well, in just 7 months after practicing the low- carb, high fat diet since April this year.
