The Golden State Warriors sets a new world record in 'most games won consecutively' on Tuesday against the La Lakers. The Warriors with leading man, point guard Stephen Curry, defeated the Lakers one hundred eleven to seventy-seven. The Golden State Warriors is now 16-0 for the season, and will be opening the play off as number one in the NBA league.
On a higher note, only a few teams in NBA history have been successful in winning these many games from the get go. The 1948-1949 Washington Capitals and 1993-1994 Houston Rockets who reined 15-0 during their times.
The likes of Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, Harisson Barnes and Daymond Green playing on the court together along side Stephen Curry, proves to be a dominant force not to be dealt with in this NBA season. This composition of players has already earned them the nickname, the "Death lineup", which fans are accustomed to saying cheerfully.
Last Tuesday, the team showcased ball movement on the court, with the proper distribution that led to 25 team assists, several of them alley-oop's. MVP Stephen Curry led his team in scoring with twenty-four points and nine assists and is on its way to being recognized as the top player in today's league along side Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Stephen Curry, in a response to how he felt about breaking the record, says, "It's a special accomplishment any time you can do something that hasn't been done before. It's not going to be total dominance for 82 games."
On an interview about the Golden State Warriors after breaking the record, Tom Goldman of ESPN reports, "Golden State is dominating the rest of the NBA, captivating fans everywhere - and it could continue for at least the next month. The Warriors don't face an elite team until a Christmas Day matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers."
