Katie Holmes Opens Up About Tom Cruise, Did She Regret Marrying The Scientology Devotee?

Katie Holmes has endured a lot. From being Mrs. Tom Cruise to filing for divorce from him. But despite all the heartache and hardships that Katie has faced, she has kept a positive attitude about her life.

"I don’t really regret anything that I’ve done," the 36-year-old actress told Ocean Drive magazine. "I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going."

Though Katie doesn't mention her ex-husband Tom Cruise, it is likely that she is referring to her six year marriage with the Mission: Impossible action star with whom she had daughter Suri.

Katie has kept going both as an actress and as a mom. She has been raising her nine-year-old daughter by herself, as Suri Cruise reportedly hasn’t seen her dad in over 800 days.

Considering that Tom is reportedly furious that Katie apologized to former-Scientologist Leah Remini following her shocking 20/20 interview, there might not be a happy reunion between father and daughter.

She noted that her new life in New York City with Suri is down to earth.

While talking about her life in the city, she mentioned that she has a normal life, working in an industry that is abnormal. Every day, she rides the train and cab. It's about getting from one point to another, not caring how she does it as long as she gets there.

While Tom is a reportedly deadbeat dad, Katie wouldn’t trade being a mom for anything in the world.

“[It] changes you completely in such amazing ways,” Katie said. “And I think that you become who you were meant to be. Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard. You want to set an example and, you know, [your kids] are what drives you.”

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were married for nearly six years before divorcing in 2012.
