Jeffrey Dean Morgan Talks About Playing Negan In 'The Walking Dead' Season Six! Will He Be Using Lucille?

There is no one who is more excited about Negan's arrival in 'The Walking Dead' Season Six than Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The former 'Supernatural' star had landed the coveted role as the comic book villain who is known for his foul language and love for swinging baseball bats into the skulls of survivors.

Although Negan's violence with the barbwire-covered Lucille may not be much of a problem for AMC, there's the issue of his language that might not go over too well with the network. Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently spoke to Vulture about his portrayal of Negan.

"The character itself is going to be as close as humanly possible," Morgan said before discussing the issue about Negan's cursing.

"Look, it's a speed bump. I'm not going to say it's an issue because they're working on it. We're going to push AMC - the plan is to push them as far as they can because it's who Negan is. He uses some colorful language. And I use some colorful language. And reading the comic, it's important. So we'll see where that lands," he said, adding that the network wants to keep the character as true to his comic book version as possible.

"It's our intention that this character is going to leap off the pages of the comic book. It's very important that that's who it is," Morgan said. "Some of the characters there's much more leeway, but Negan is a guy that you want to keep as true as possible, and that would be how I want to play him as well."

Negan's foul language might be a slight problem for AMC, but every other aspect of the character seems to be in place. Jeffrey Dean Morgan turns out to be a natural when it comes to swinging baseball bats.

"I don't need to practice my swing," Morgan said. "I grew up with a bat in my hands."

Glenn better watch out for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The newly-resurrected character was famously killed by Negan in the 100th issue of the comic book with the help of Lucille.
