Outback Launches App Allowing Customers to Pay Through a Phone

One of the gripes of ordering steaks from a restaurant is having to wait for it to be cooked. Sometimes it can take half an hour, and with the dining culture we have now, this is just too long. The rise of digital-based payments (through phone) is also a norm nowadays.

However, Outback Steakhouse managed to get rid of these dilemmas through their newly-launched app, now available on Google Play and iTunes, making it compatible with Android and iOS phones. It's can be downloaded for free.

The Outback app allows you to pay through the app quickly and securely, without reaching for your wallet in your back pocket. Furthermore, the app also allows you to split the check with your fellow diners and at the same time, give a tip to the waiter.

There are also other features in the app which make it a must for steak lovers and Outback regulars. By using the app, you can get into a wait list on the Outback branch near you and be notified if there's a table available. Moreover, you can take a look at the menu and make your order, and once it's nearly ready, you can just immediately walk into the store and eat your steak without having to wait.

By downloading the app, you're also able to receive discount coupons straight into your phone. Instead of having to print them, you can just use them to get discounts when it's time to pay for your meal.

"The Outback culture is, and has always been, to provide as many choices as possible to our guests and to help manage their valuable time," said Jeff Smith, Outback Steakhouse President. "This app is just one of several digital advancements we're launching in 2016 to elevate our guests' dining experience."

A rewards program is also in the works in the summer with the launch of Bloomin' Brands Dine Rewards. This loyalty program, exclusive to Bloomin' Brands restaurants like Outback Steakhouse, customers will have a 50% discount on their fourth visit.

The rewards program will be available on the mobile application.
