National Oreo Day Is Here! Check Out These Ways to Celebrate
National Oreo Day is literally around the corner. It's time to dunk those Oreos in your glass of milk to celebrate this sweet day with the millions of Oreo fans nationwide or even worldwide.
March 6 is Oreo Day
Who is not familiar with this fun snack? Kids love them, and so do most adults. The oreo sandwich goes way back, so adults today are certainly familiar with the Oreo sandwich cookie as much as the younger ones.
The Oreo sandwich cookie is made up of two chocolate disks sandwiching a sweet cream filling. Some love to split the sandwich open and eat the filling inside first, while some eat the disks first instead. But no matter the personality, no one can say they do not like this classic cream sandwich.
There is a reason why since its introduction, the Oreo sandwich cookie quickly becomes the United States' best-selling cookie, so much so that today, there is a whole day dedicated to celebrating the sandwich.
Dairy Queen Celebrates Oreo Day
Eating Oreos on March 6 with delight is already one way to celebrate Oreo Day. But if you want a whole different experience, you can hop over to Dairy Queen that is helping many fans celebrate the day by offering a crazy promo that everyone should certainly take advantage of.
Dairy Queen is celebrating Oreo Day with a buy one, get one offer deal on its Mint Oreo Blizzard Treat, as reported by KTSM. If you want to indulge on this special day and you think that dunking your Oreos into a glass of milk is too basic, going for the Mint Oreo Blizzard is the way to go.
This promo is available in all participating DQ restaurants in Texas on Saturday, but only through the DQ Texas mobile app. It is very easy to sign up through the app, so it's not a big deal.
How About Baskin's Oreo Ice Cream?
If not Dairy Queen, you can check out Baskin's newest Oreo offering. Baskin-Robbins has a new March flavor of the month called the Oreo 'N Cold Brew.
Maybe this is the Oreo snack meant for adults. If you are no longer a milk drinker, go for this ice cream that had Oreos being mixed with coffee, or cold brew coffee-flavored ice cream, in particular.
Oreo Sandwich Cookie History
Behind the well-loved Oreos is the company called The National Biscuit Company, which is now more known as Nabisco. The sandwich cookie came about in 1912 and never really left the consciousness of people.
They were created at the very first at Nabisco's Chelsea factory located in New York City. The name "Oreo" was first trademarked on March 14, 1912.
It was first called "Oreo Biscuit" before being renamed "Oreo Sandwich." It was renamed again in 1948, adding the word "creme" in the middle of "Oreo" and "sandwich."
However, no matter how it is officially named, Oreo has become an unforgettable name. Today, the block on which the factory that first produced Oreos is now called "Oreo Way'" for understandable reasons.
