Suspected cop-killer Eric Frein was reportedly seen in another location shifting police's search to northeastern Pennsylvania.
On Monday, a local law enforcement official reported a new sighting of Frein near the Swiftwater Post Office in the Pocono Mountains. The Post Office is near Pocono Mountain East High School, where a woman out for a walk saw a rifle-toting man with mud-covered face.
"It was reported in the area of the Pocono Mountain East High School. The individual's description was consistent with Frein and he was observed carrying a rifle", said Lt.Col. George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police. Police officers believe that the man could be Frein who has not been captured after more than a month as accused the culprit of ambushing Blooming Grove state police barracks early September of this year.
The ambush killed one police officer and leaving another one wounded. Since then, Pennsylvania began an intensive manhunt for Frein, 31 starting in the woods around the former's parent's home in Canadensis. Bivens added that they have probably put a "tremendous amount of pressure on him" forcing him to move to another hide away.
State police believe that Frein might have hatred to law enforcement and wants to target police enforcement and not the civilians.
After the new sighting was reported, schools around the district closed. Bevins also said that Pocono East High School is Frein's alma mater and the man also worked at Camp Minsi which is also in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, investigators analyzed blood discovered on the back porch of a home near Cresco but found no link of it to Frein through a DNA testing. Police believe that Frein could have been looking for food and shelter in vacant cabins or homes around the area.
