Pennsylvania Manhunt – Schools Close And Police Searches Frantically

Pennsylvania Manhunt: In northeast Pennsylvania, schools have closed today due to a manhunt that is taking place in the area, after a suspect for killing law enforcement officers was supposedly spotted.

In Pennsylvania, the rural area is being occupied currently by police officers and law enforcement taking care of a manhunt to catch Eric Frein, a 31 year-old man who has been described as an anti-government survivalist, as USA Today noted.

Apparently, there was an ambush on Sept. 12 as there was a Police change of shift in the State Police barracks and one officer was killed and a second one was left seriously injured and in the hospital.

The shooting of the law officers happened in Blooming Grove, which is located 25 miles from Frein's home, where he lived with his parents. After that, he was searched through the area and this new sighting of the suspect is not far away from there.

One of the situations that has happened during this manhunt through the area was that a woman reported seeing a man with his face covered in mud and carrying a rifle near the Pocono Mountain East High School. She saw him for thirty seconds and then ran away.

Because the sighting was from a distance of less than 30 yards, the statement of the woman was taken seriously by the authorities.

The Pennsylvania manhunt has continued for more than five weeks and during those the suspect was supposedly seen several times by different people. Also, the police came across soiled adult diapers and empty packs of Serbian cigarettes, according to The Washington Post.

10 schools have been closed on Tuesday and the closure was announced at 5 am.

"He was added to the FBI's list of most wanted fugitives. The FBI said it is offering $100,000 reward for information that leads to Frein's arrest," the Washington Post noted.
