Bill Cosby Rape Charges - If there is one thing that is oddly a matter for jokes that is rape. But Hannibal Buress gave a performance on Thursday, Oct. 16 and accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting women.
Hannibal Buress has been a writer for "Saturday Night Live" in 2009 and 2010. He has also written an episode for "30 Rock." He has acted in "Neighbors" (2014) and also does voice-over for "Angry Birds" (2016), which is based on the well-known game.
Also, he is a stand-up comedian and last Thursday, Oct. 16 he performed at the Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia, which is Bill Cosby's hometown. So, it was a rather daring move, but he went along with it.
"'Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the 80's. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple of notches," was among the things that Buress said.
One detail, though, is that even if this was professed in a stand-up comedy show, it still has some facts behind it. Bill Cosby has never been publicly charged with rape, but he has been accused before, apparently.
According to CBS, Andrea Constand, the director of operations for Temple University's women's basketball team alleged in 2004 that Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her after drugging her in 2004.
In the 1970's, another woman said in the "Today Show" that Bill Cosby did the same thing to her as later on Constand would say.
And it seems that there was a civil suit that was started by Constand and that included not only her, but another 13 women as well alleging rape and abuse also.
So, even if this time Bill Cosby's rape charges were part of comedy fiction, there is some shadow of a doubt behind them.
