Rite Aid Bans Apple Electronic Payment - The drugstore in one of several, including Walmart and CVS that banned The Apple Electronic Payment from its stores.
To begin with, Apple Electronic Payment or Apple Pay is a new method through which the phone only needs one touch to pay for whatever it is the consumer decided to purchase.
"Now paying in stores happens in one natural motion... To pay, just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. You don't even have to look at the screen to know your payment information was successfully sent," Apple explained how to use the system.
It sounds comfortable, good and easy. Especially designed for iPhone 6 and iWatch, it takes out steps from paying. Still, Rite Aid is not satisfied with it and decided to eliminate the possibility of payment through Apple Pay.
The reason behind the ban apparently lies on the fact that Rite Aid, in association with CVS and Walmart are developing their own payment method, which is called Merchants Customer Exchange (MCX), The Guardian noted.
The problem with this ban from Rite Aid to the Apple Electronic Payment is that costumers have already shown anger and discomfort with the decision.
BGR even posted, "Walmart and CVS are insane for blocking Apple Pay." The fact is that Apple Electronic Payment is not only fast and easy, but also deals with the major credit card companies.
Associated to Apple Electronic Payment are: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Bank of America and Citi, among others. Basically, most people use one of these for their payments.
And a second reason that would lead Rite Aid, CVS and Walmart to be "crazy" for the ban is the fact stated before. Consumers are happy with the method created by Apple.
Supposedly, the ones who've tried MCX are not satisfied and some even go as far as saying that it's the same as paying with the credit card and why bother on not taking it out after all, the Examineer quoted.
