AMA Winners And Nominees 2014: All You Need To Know About This Year’s American Music Awards! [PHOTOS+VIDEOS]

This year's AMA winners and nominees got together last Sunday for the American Music Awards ceremony, in a night that saw some of the world's favorite artists having fun on stage and out!

As music fans know, the AMA winners and nominees are one of the first and most important of the big award shows while waiting for the Grammys by the following year - usually on the first months, while it's still cold, where they'll be showing off the very best of the music industry throughout the year.

Due to this, it's no shock that the AMA winners and nominees would get together in this first ceremony at the Nokia Theatre of Los Angeles, in a night that featured some of music's most famous faces right now - and from years before, as even legendary singer Diana Ross made an appearance to present the first-ever Dick Clark Award for Excellence, according to The Star.

It's not every day that amazing stars such as the AMA winners and nominees join together for a night in Hollywood, and it's always no less than an absolutely magical occasion.

Some of the ceremony's amazing performances included Taylor Swift (who opened the night), host Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, Charli XCX, Selena Gomez and Lorde, all of whom were around honoring the AMA winners and nominees of the 2014 - an amazing year that included massive hits from new artists!

Among the AMA winners and nominees this year was newcomer Iggy Azalea, the newest sensation of hip hop. She was nominated for an astounding six awards, of which she ended up winning two: "Favorite Album - Rap/Hip-Hop" and "Favorite Artist - Rap/Hip-Hop."

The Australian superstar sang her hit "Fancy" on stage as well as a joint performance of "Booty" with Jennifer Lopez later on, celebrating the AMA winners and nominees!

The biggest winners of the night were British pop band One Direction, becoming the biggest among the AMA winners and nominees by taking the biggest award of the night: "Artist of the Year."

One Direction also took home two other awards: "Favorite Band, Duo or Group - Pop/Rock" and "Favorite Album - Pop/Rock." They tied being the biggest AMA winners and nominees with no-show Katy Perry, who won "Single of the Year," "Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock" and "Favorite Album - Pop/Rock."
