Over the past two decades, American population has gotten aggressively fatter.

A study by JAMA Internal Medicine found out that 75% of Americans were at least somewhat overweight. Out of four randomly selected people from corner to corner of the country, chances are that only one of them would be maintaining healthy weight. 

The study proposes an alarming statistics that can be a cause of genetics or some disorders. Some cases can also be credited by lack of exercise and unhealthy eating habits.

Based on the study, in the present there are numerous obese people than overweight people in the U.S.A. And this serves as a factual problem of the society.

A study by WalletHub , a personal finance website, has come up with a list of the fattest states in the country which depends on math and science calculations and observations.

The top 10 consists of the list below.

9) Oklahoma
8) Alabama
7) Kentucky
6) Arkansas
5) South Carolina
4) Tennessee
3) West Virginia
2) Louisiana
1) Mississippi

The majority of the states were located in the southeast, the home of warm, thick and delicious gravy.

Colorado and Hawaii gets the crown for the skinniest states.

Wallethub survey takes account of the data of percentage of adults and children who are overweight, obese, consume drinks with high sugar substance and lead an inactive lifestyle.

"In 2014, nearly 83 million Americans were completely inactive, the highest number reported since 2007. A sedentary lifestyle, or lack of physical activity, is one of the leading causes of obesity in addition to other factors such as genetics, emotional instability and lack of sleep," the study explained.

It is said that the major treatment for obesity is dieting and doing exercise which are somehow forgotten due to individual's busy schedules.
