There are numerous beauty hacks and DIYs scattered all over the Internet, but which of them are effective and beneficial to you? Would you trust a nobody - an anonymous maybe - who says you should put oats on your face?

What if that person is Bobbi Brown? The namesake and founder of one of the biggest and best make-up companies in the world.

Through the Food Network's "The Kitchen" show, the beauty guru and makeup mogul shared three homemade remedies and recipes for any common skin or beauty problem every girl has ever experienced.

"Beauty from the Inside Out" Smoothie

In a blender, put in 1 cup of ice, add in 1 cup coconut milk, ¼ cup cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder, ½ frozen organic banana, a handful of frozen organic cherries and ½-1 cup kale. Blend in and shake until desired consistency and enjoy.

According to StepIn2.com, the benefits of the fruits combined with chia seeds will not only do good to our immune system and give us loads of vitamins and minerals, but it will only reflect the good effects of this through a radiant and glowing skin!

Homemade Lip and Hand Scrub

In a medium bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of honey. Use the paste as lip balm and a hand scrub. Use the sugar granules to exfoliate the skin. After some time, around 10 minutes, rinse off and dry with a damp towel.

Regular exfoliating of the skin is essential so that our skin will be moisturized. According to lovetoknow.com, using natural ingredients such as sugar combined with honey that has organic properties to soothe the skin while exfoliating is better instead of commercially prepared products.

All Natural Face Mask

If you do not want to spend money on ready to use face masks that you will only use once, try out this home hack by Brown. She instructs mixing 2 tablespoons of honey with ½ cup plain yogurt-full fat and 1 tablespoon oatmeal. Apply the mixture all over your face and leave it on for 5 minutes. You can redo the masking (with a new batch, of course) once every week.
