What would happen if you combine something that is definitely a classic in the world of cakes and sweets with one that was just recently discovered and considered a total food trend? Of course, a new and better dessert that would satisfy everyone's taste buds.
Buzzfeed has come up with a recipe that will make you think why haven't you tried this out yet.
Combining the classic baked cheesecake with a cookie dough crust is a marriage of texture and taste-a reconciliation of all things beautiful in one baking pan.
Try it with these simple ingredients:
-3 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, softened
-1 cup granulated sugar
-1 cup sour cream
-1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
-1 package pre made cookie dough (or you can make your own! Food YouTuber Gemma Stafford has one easy to make cookie dough recipe for you!)
It's as if you are making a regular cheesecake-but with a cookie dough crust which makes it more complex in a way that our mouths will thank us.
As always, preheat your oven first. The temperature needed for this particular recipe is 350F or 180C.
Even out a layer of cookie dough into a spring form pan. In case you do not own such pan, a check is DIY project.
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and sugar until fluffy and creamy. Continue doing so until there are no lumps. Add the sour cream and vanilla and mix. Do not over mix, doing so will make your cake springy and rubbery.
One at a time, pour in the eggs and incorporate it fully before adding the next one.
Pour the mixture into the springform pan.
*Optional* drop half teaspoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the cheesecake batter. Bake for one hour, cool completely, then refrigerate overnight.
