How to make the best chocolate chip cookies
Here's what you will need:
- Two ¾ cups of all-purpose flour
- One teaspoon of salt
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- One teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 ½ sticks of softened unsalted butter
- One ¾ cups of packed dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- Two large eggs
- Two teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
Combine all the dry ingredients. Make sure to sift the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda into a large bowl so you can easily incorporate them.
Mix the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl using a mixer on medium-high speed for about four minutes until it becomes a little airy and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla to the mixture and continue beating. Make sure to reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the flour mixture and beat until they are combined.
At this point, you may want to add in two cups of chocolate chips. Mix them until they are evenly distributed into the cookie dough. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand. Cover the cookie dough in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour. For better results, leave the cookie dough inside the refrigerator overnight.

After taking the cookies out of the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheets. You can then transfer your fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies to racks to cool completely.
