We've all found ourselves spending more time in the house lately. While it's great to spend quality time with loved ones, you may also be missing the delicious cuisine you can get out at a restaurant or bar. Fortunately, there are so many delicious and unique snacks you can make at home for a night in. Here are a few of our favorite recipes that will have you and your family licking the plate!
Bacon Jam Baked Brie
When it comes to appetizers and snacks, there's nothing better than baked brie - or is there? Instead of regular ol' garlic or fig jam, spruce up this classic in a flavorful way for your next movie night or get together with friends. Adding the salty yet sweet bacon jam makes for a delicious snack!
1 cup of your favorite bacon jam
1 lb. wheel of brie
This recipe is pretty straightforward. Simply place the wheel of brie (rind still on) in a baking dish or cast iron pan, then cover with the jam. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is nicely melted. Let cool, and then enjoy with your favorite cracker!
Caramel Apple Nachos
Nachos for dessert? Yes, please! These caramel apple nachos are a cool twist on a carnival classic. You'll need:
4 sliced apples (your favorite kind!)
1 bag of regular marshmallows
5 tbsp butter
30 caramel cream candies, unwrapped
1 cup melting chocolate (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
¾ cup heavy cream
Melt together marshmallows and butter in a pot until you get a silky smooth marshmallow sauce. Set aside. Microwave your caramel cream candies for 30 seconds with ¼ th of the cup of cream. Set aside the other ½ cup of cream. Stir caramel/cream mixture and continue microwaving in short increments until a caramel sauce is created. Once finished, heat the other ½ cup of heavy cream until hot, then add in melting chocolate and stir until a chocolate sauce forms. Then, simply pile the apple slices onto a large plate and drizzle with our caramel, chocolate, and marshmallow sauces to your liking!
You can also add your favorite caramel apple toppings, like nuts or sprinkles, to add a little extra pizazz!
This is a great snack for movie night with the kids, or for adults as well! This simple recipe is a great way to spice up a bag of popcorn when you're short on ideas but looking for something sweet and salty to munch on. You'll need:
2 bags of microwave popcorn
2 cups of Lucky Charms Marshmallows
1 cup of white chocolate chips
Pop your bags of microwave popcorn using the setting on your microwave. Once finished, pour into a wide, shallow pan and sprinkles with marshmallows. Then, take your cup of white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds at half power and stir until smooth and melted. If not fully melted, heat for another 30 seconds at half power until it comes out smooth (baking experts can also use the double boiler method). Drizzle melted white chocolate over your popcorn creation, then cover with sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft. When chocolate solidifies again, break your popcorn creation into bite-sized pieces and transfer to a bowl. Then, pop in a movie and enjoy!
