A small one-person creamery is creating lots of buzz in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. A to Z Creamery is run by 5-time NCAA football champ Zach Vraa, who quickly became an online sensation thanks to his unique ice cream creations. Like many people at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vraa started working from home. What others didn't have, though, was an ice cream machine for a birthday gift.

Vraa told KARE 11 that his mom got him an ice cream machine for his birthday, and he started experimenting at home. He then posted his one-of-a-kind creations on his Instagram page. A quick scroll through his Vraa's Instagram will make your mouth water. A self-confessed "Donut Afficionado" and "Burger Lover," he adds "Ice Cream Churner" to that list. His page is also full of all these mouth-watering treats.

For his ice cream creations, Vraa eventually made a separate Instagram account, atozcreamery. Before his first attempt in March 2020, you'll find many posts of different ice cream brands that he's tried. Then finally, he posted his first creation - Cayenne Spiced Cinnamon Vegan Ice Cream with Salted Caramel Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough. This unusual flavor combination had genius written all over it, and that was only the beginning. ALSO READ: 'Friends' Inspired Ice Cream Is Finally Here

Born on Instagram

Based on his earlier attempts posted on Instagram, some of the first few flavors Vraa came up with included Golden Oreo Ice Cream with Golden & Chocolate Oreos, Salted Pretzel Ice Cream with Caramel Chip Coated Pretzels, and Marshmallow Swirl. Funfetti Ice Cream with Funfetti Crack Bites and Sprinkles and Lucky Charms Cereal Milk Ice Cream with Lucky Charms Marshmallows, and Black Cherry Frosting Swirl were also among the first flavors. Obviously, Vraa had a fun and creative streak. Vraa's Instagram followers soon began asking if they could buy his ice cream creations. At first, he brushed it off but soon realized that he was developing a cult following. He started with ten pints and shared that he'd have one hundred more inquires. That's when he started doing ice cream on a full scale and rented a commercial kitchen.

How To Order

As KARE 11 reports, Vraa makes his ice cream and toppings from scratch. From those first 10 pints, Vraa now produces around 300 pints weekly and offers one flavor a week, which may or may not be repeated. Flavors are announced on Instagram, and loyal customers are quick to make their orders. His "7 Minutes of Heaven" reportedly sold out in one minute on the A to Z Creamery website. According to the website, there is no set schedule, but a new flavor is unveiled on Instagram every week. The quantities are limited, so make sure to subscribe to get live updates! Vraa's ice cream creations are available for pick-up only. Pick-up times are posted for each flavor. At this time, Vraa operates out of his rented commercial kitchen and has no storefront. Based on the posted time, customers are given a 15-minute window for pick-up. Failure to show up on time will result in a forfeited order with no refunds. However, that doesn't seem to happen often as customers show up early to get their hands on Vraa's creations.
