Are you looking for vegan versions of your favorite childhood treats? Trupo Treats will soon deliver vegan versions of KitKat, Twix, Hershey's Milk Chocolate, and Crunch! The vegan milk chocolate company successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign in July 2020 and have been selling their Vegan Rice Crunch bars, their version of Nestle's Crunch, for the past nine months. According to the brand's website, they're aiming for the rest of their vegan chocolate variants to be available by June 2021.

About Trupo Treats

As The Beet reports, Trupo Treats is owned by Brian and Charlie Trupo. The 22-year-old twins call themselves the "Veggie Brothers." The company is currently located at New York, New York. Brian, a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship graduate from the University of Florida, runs the company full-time. His twin brother Charlie is currently in Scotland completing his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science. Through Kickstarter, the twins were able to raise $50,000 to launch their company. At present, they're trying to raise $100,000 by May 2021 for product development. So far, they've met 68 percent of their goal.

The Trupo Treats Mission

On their website, Trupo Treats states that what sets them apart from other chocolate companies is their ethos. They have an admirable three-fold mission that's for the people, the animals, and the planet. Trupo Treats uses fairly-traded cacao beans, their chocolate is vegan, organic, and non-GMO, and their packaging is sustainable. The company also donates to animal sanctuaries and has so far donated over $5000 in their nine months of operation. For their latest campaign, they'll be donating 25 percent of their profits to their animal sanctuary partners. Customers can see the list of sanctuaries on the company website.

Trupo Treats Products

Trupo Treats will be launching four vegan chocolate products inspired by iconic childhood favorites. You can now pre-order their new and improved Vegan Rice Crunch Bar and three new Vegan Mylk Chocolate bars: Vegan Mylk Chocolate Wafer Bar (inspired by KitKat), Vegan Mylk Chocolate Caramel Cookie Bar (inspired by Twix) and Vegan Mylk Chocolate Bar (inspired by Hershey's Milk Chocolate).

The vegan chocolate bars will come in variety pack and multi-pack options. Those who'd like to try Trupo Treats' offerings can start with a 4-pack, which features one of each variety. Then there's the 8, 16 and 28 pack with even numbers of each variety per pack. The multi-packs have 10 bars of one variant per pack. Prices start at $17.99 for a 4 pack. While some may question about the higher prices, Trupo Treats explains that they use free-traded cacao that is free from human and animal exploitation. They believe that supporting human and animal rights "comes with an added cost, but to us, it's a necessary cost."

Trupo Treats is working with a food scientist and these are the details available at this time: their products are vegan, organic, Kosher and free from palm oil, gluten, soy, eggs, milk, peanuts, and tree nuts.
