Tomatoes have loads of benefits when eaten, but they can be quite good for the skin, too, if you just place them on your problem areas. Here are four ways tomatoes can transform your skin, so you can ditch all those expensive cleansers and toners already.

Tomatoes Benefits: Can Make the Blackheads on Your Nose Vanish

Those annoying black little dots crowding your nose and your cheeks? Those blackheads you want to squeeze or cover? They'll be gone in no time if you place tomatoes on them. Tomatoes are rich in antioxidants so if you place them directly (or the pulp) on the problem area where blackheads are aplenty, they can reduce these annoying dots' appearance.

If you find it funny to have tomatoes on your nose, then you can get the help of baking soda.

Dip the tomatoes in baking soda and apply them to those small bumps. It does not look any better than having red tomatoes all over your nose, but it looks a bit more normal. Leave this on for about 10 minutes before rinsing it away.

Tomatoes Can Rejuvenate the Skin and Make it Glow

Tomato pulp contains lycopene, which not only does wonders on the body, but also on the skin. It can help reduce tan and brightens the skin so you look fresh, in an instant.

If you get tomato pulp and mix this with multani mitti and rose water, and place the concoction on both your face and neck and leave for ten minutes, you can see some results quickly. Within a click, you can see how your skin turns brighter and feels refreshed.

If you do not have multani mitti and rose water, you can also simply massage a slice of tomato on both the face and neck.

Tomatoes Benefit the Skin by Soothing Irritation

Tomatoes contains high amount of anti-inflammatory compounds such as lycopene and other goodies like beta carotene and lutein. All of them make tomatoes an effective remedy when it comes to soothing irritated skin.

Irritation sometimes occur no matter how we clean our face. It flares up randomly, or sometimes inflammation occurs because we tested out a new beauty product. Don't fret. Just slice a tomato and rub it on the irritated skin.

If you want to be a little extra, you can mix tomato pulp with cucumber juice.

Tomatoes Can Rescue Tired Skin, Remove Dead Skin

Stress can truly do a number on our skin, and make it look dull and tired. Dead skin can also abound if we no longer have the time to exfoliate or have access to facials. Tomatoes are the easiest way to rescue your tired-looking skin and remove dead skin.

If you use tomatoes as toners, not only can it remove traces of dirt and impurities, but also help tighten the pores. Tighter pores make the skin look healthier and fresher. Add sugar to the tomatoes and use the concoction as an exfoliating scrub and you can remove dead skin yourself without the need to go for expensive facials.
