What You Need to Open That High School Concession Stand

Are you the one in charge of concessions for your child's school athletics games? If so, there are quite a few things you might need. Here's a quick look at a few of them,
This is a great thing to have whether or not you have a building to sell concessions out of. Food tents are portable, which means they can go with you to away games and events. You need a source of water and power, and you'll be good to go.
Whether you'll be a concession stand at a football game or hockey game, you're going to need tables. You need to have some sort of surface to prepare foods on and you might want to have a few outside of the concession area for people to sit and eat at.
Hot Dog Roller
Hot dogs tend to be quite popular at sporting events. Especially when that sporting event happens to be a baseball game. They're ideal for picky kids, and adults also enjoy them. Just be sure you know which size to get. They come in a variety of sizes that cook different numbers of hot dogs simultaneously.
Flat Top Grill
Even when you aren't cooking hamburgers on the spot during soccer games, you'll need to get a few ready before the people start flooding in at halftime. If you have one of these, you have more options as to what you can offer your customers. You might cook grilled veggie baskets, grilled chicken, or even steak sandwiches!
There's nearly no place you can go where people don't expect concession stands to offer popcorn. From high school games to WWE wrestling events, you'll find popcorn machines in all sorts of concession stands. Just think how the smell of that popcorn will draw the crowds in. I bet if you close your eyes, you can smell it now!
Get you a lot of small packages of tortilla chips and a nacho cheese machine, and you'll have what you need to make one of the most popular concession items. It's easy to make a big profit with this snack, and it also happens to be something that can be made and served quickly. If you have the ability to add jalapenos or beef to the nachos, you can make an even larger profit.
One thing that can turn people away from your stand is having a line that's too long and slow-moving. In order to avoid this, you might want to invest in a food warmer. If you have one of these, you'll be able to make a few of each thing and put them in the warmer so that when they're ordered, you can just grab one and move on to the next customer. This does well for things like hamburgers, fries, etc. You can even use it for popcorn and pizza. When you have at least some foods already assembled, it can make the line move more quickly and you can make more money.
These are just a few of the things that you might need for your concession stand. It helps to know what space you'll have and then you can work on a menu. Once you have a menu or at least an idea of what you want to serve, you'll have a much better idea of the equipment and items you'll need. Also, don't forget some sort of freezer for things like ice, popsicles, etc. No matter what else you get, never forget to have the most important thing for your customers - a smile.
